From this time many of his disciples turned back and no longer followed him.
“You do not want to leave too, do you?” Jesus asked the Twelve. Simon Peter answered him, “Lord, to whom shall we go? You have the words of eternal life. We have come to believe and to know that you are the Holy One of God.” (John 6:66-69)
Jesus has the words of eternal life. He is the Holy One of God. When we search the Scriptures, we find Him, and we find life.
God has given us such clear access to Him. He has given us such clear access to Life. He Himself is Life, and He offers Himself to us when we come and drink of Him by diving into the Word of God.
He has the words of eternal life.
He has words that refresh our soul.
He has words that quench our inner thirst.
When we open our Bibles and drink, we are filled. He quenches that thirst like no other can. He invites us to come back to life as we breathe in His life, which we find in His Word.
The Bible is a blessing. God offers it to us that we might know of Him and have life.
Need a spiritual refill? Open your Bible and watch a garden spring up in your heart. When you water your heart with the words that come from the Eternal Well, life will spring forth.
