Sabbath Sunday #7: Resurrection Sunday

He is good. He is faithful. And He has overcome the grave.

Just as He said He would.

Matthew 28:1-9
After the Sabbath, at dawn on the first day of the week, Mary Magdalene and the other Mary went to see the tomb.

Suddenly there was a great earthquake, for an angel of the Lord descended from heaven, rolled away the stone, and sat on it. His appearance was like lightning, and his clothes were white as snow. The guards trembled in fear of him and became like dead men.

But the angel said to the women, “Do not be afraid, for I know that you are looking for Jesus, who was crucified. He is not here; He has risen, just as He said! Come, see the place where He lay. Then go quickly and tell His disciples, ‘He has risen from the dead and is going ahead of you into Galilee. There you will see Him.’ See, I have told you.”

So they hurried away from the tomb in fear and great joy, and ran to tell His disciples. Suddenly Jesus met them and said, “Greetings!” They came to Him, grasped His feet, and worshiped Him.

The women came looking for Jesus in the tomb, and He wasn't there; just like He said He wouldn't be.

We can trust Him, for His words are true.

They were back then and they still are today.

We can place our hope and trust in Him because He is good. He will not let us down. He speaks and it happens, for He is a man of His word.

We can place our hope in Jesus today because HE IS ALIVE.

He got up from the grave. He defeated death and now He reigns in victory forevermore.

There is no end to His throne. There is no end to His Kingdom.

He has overcome once and for all.

May we stand in awe of Him, for He is not dead but He is alive. May we worship Him and rejoice in His steadfast love.

He has conquered death, y'all. We have a reason to hope and a reason to celebrate!

Happy Resurrection Sunday, everyone!

Blessings upon blessings,
Elisha
