Day 18: Let Us Pray

When we get hit with bad news, let us pray.

When we find ourselves in scary situations, let us pray.

When we feel like we have absolutely no control over what is happening around us, let us pray.

When we don't know how things can get any better, let us pray.

When we feel discouraged and disappointed, let us pray.

When we don't feel like God is listening, let us pray.

When we don't think God is going to come through for us again, let us pray.

When we don't want to, let us pray.

When we think it's a waste of time, let us pray.

When we think it's counterproductive, let us pray.

When we think we don't have time, let us pray.

When we think we should be responding with "real action", let us pray.

When we feel like we are on top of the world, let us pray.

When we feel like the world is on top of us, let us pray.

When we are having our best day, let us pray.

When we are having our worst, let us pray.

When we are filled with joy and gratitude, let us pray.

When we are filled with grief and sorrow, let us pray.

In all that we are doing and going through, let us pray.

You've probably heard it said many times that prayer should be our first response, not our last resort. But that can often be easier said than done. Sometimes we simply don't feel like praying. Sometimes we are in the middle of a crisis and don't have time to stop and pray. Sometimes, prayer simply doesn't cross our minds.

But I am here to remind you that because God is always with us, we can always be in prayer. It can be an hour, or it can be 10 seconds. It can be 500 words, or 2. God is not looking for the person with the best prayer, but He is looking for you to have an honest prayer. Fancy words, or no words. He is there waiting to listen to and respond to your prayer.

In whatever we are doing today, wherever we find ourselves, in whatever state of mind we are in, let us stop and let us pray.

Be blessed,
Elisha
